Magnitude 6.6 Earthquake Hits Wellington

Wellington is hit by a magnitude 6.6 earthquake which is felt throughout much of the country from top to bottom. Today is the first day a homosexual couple can file notice of their intention to marry. Te Papa - the national museum is closed temporarily to check for earthquake damage.
